Sugar Nails: the sweetest manicure out there!

Try sugar nails for a slurpy look

Sugar makes everything easier: swallowing a bitter bite, sweetening a pill, giving flavour to a cake, turning fruit into jam, balancing the bitterness of coffee. It is an ingredient that makes everything taste and look better, even in the field of aesthetics. Sugar nails are an eternal classic that can be found in brighter shades in summer and cooler colours in winter. Their grainy, mouth-watering surface gives an extra twist to your style. Try it to believe it!

How to make them

This effect is very easy to achieve, just use sugar glitter and you're done. We would like to give you one piece of advice: do not do this look on every single nail, as the end result may be slightly heavy. You can do it on alternate fingers, even simply on your little finger, just to give your nail art an extra touch. We made sugar nails by drawing curved lines with Trendy Liner Brush and Ultra Gloss top coat, without curing. Apply coloured micro glitter on top, remove the excess glitter with Fan Brush, then put your hand under UV/LED lamp. In order not to lose the typical coarseness of this trend, no finishing coat is applied. With these simple details we embellished a manicure, making it stylish and fun. As you can see, it only takes a small area of nail to give your style a new look!

SLURPY IDEAS

If you prefer a more uniform result, you can work on the entire surface of the nail bed, alternating colours as in the case of this spring nail art. Even if you combine sugar nails in different colours, the overall result is not heavy because of the soft and delicate pastel shades, perfect for every occasion. If you wish, you can enrich your nail art by adding shimmer only on certain details: on the cuticle ring, typical of the half-moon manicure, or near the smile line of the French manicure for an alternative and decidedly glam look!

If you love matt and can't give it up, fear not: combine these two effects! One does not exclude the other, on the contrary, it is a great way to combine and balance two different and widely used styles. If you're in need of ideas, take inspiration from this pop nail design from Passione Beauty. The nails of thumb, little and index finger have Pop Purple and Sailor as a base with a matte finish, while middle and ring finger have White Extra gel polish as a base, perfect for highlighting the mouth-watering decorations. The drawn lines give movement to the nail art, making your outfit bold and super cool.

If you find this look a bit too flashy for your everyday life, wait until the holidays to try it out. Sugar nails are in fact a real must for the Christmas period, and are made in every shape and colour by combining them with whatever stickers or transfer foil you like. Winter is indeed the best season to show off sparkling fingers that brighten up the greyest of days, plus during the festive season anything goes (at the table and in style)!

These are just some of the infinite combinations you can go wild with, don't limit yourself! It doesn't matter if it's already summer or not, which nail length you prefer, whether you prefer square or rounded shapes, which colour season you belong to. Whatever the case, sugar nails are perfect at any time of year and with any outfit. Try them out, be bold, an extra dose of sweetness never hurts!
