Transfer foil and nail stickers: how and when to use them!

Article content index

They may look similar, but are two completely different nail art accessories. Each has a specific use depending on the result you want to achieve. Find out how and when to use them!

The difference between Transfer Foil and Nail stickers

Both are important allies for sensational manicures. They are also a great shortcut if you are not very handy with the art of micro painting or if you simply do not have enough time. Nail stickers add silhouettes, shapes and details on the portion of the nail you prefer. They are easy to use, can be combined as you like and are available in many different styles. Transfer foils are perfect for "transferring" their texture onto the entire nail surface, so in a few seconds you can have decorations on your nails that would otherwise be difficult to recreate by hand. Their use involves a few extra steps but fear not, we will now list all the stages and features you need to know in order to decide which of the two adhesive nail accessories is right for you.

Stickers

A great classic in the industry to suit everyone's taste! Our range is vast and you can find nail stickers for every theme and occasion... you'll be spoilt for choice! They are the ideal solution to embellish a total manicure look. You can combine as many as you like or choose one in particular. They are handy, practical, quick, ready to use and you only need tweezers to apply them. You can find colourful, black and white, themed on seasons, holidays, food, nature, travel, you name it. How they work is very simple: just apply them on the desired portion of nail (on a previously cured base) and you're done! There is no need to wet them as with water decals as these applications already have adhesive components.

Transfer foil

Do you want to create a manicure full of intricate decorations, watercolour effect designs, floral motifs or animal patterns in a short time? Transfer foils are your best ally. They follow the same principle as temporary tattoos, which means they must be applied to the nail and then removed to imprint their texture. Before starting to choose the pattern to be transferred, it is essential to apply and cure our transparent Foil Gel, designed specifically for this technique. It should not be matted; the surface must remain slightly sticky precisely so that the chosen decorations adhere as well as possible. Now you can decide which adhesive decoration you want to imprint, by cutting out the relevant portion (even better if you try to roughly follow the shape of the nail). Proceed with its application, helping yourself with an orangewood stick to even out any lifting. Now you can remove the foil…please be gentle, remember you are not waxing! If not all of the design adheres perfectly, make a second application in the same way. If you want a 'ripped' effect you can deliberately remove the sticky application abruptly, sometimes this happens with metallic textures to create rock and special looks. The last step is to seal (and cure) with Aqua Gloss, our thicker transparent top coat that will ensure long-lasting wear.
